Alice Bailey’s Hierarchy and the 2025 Assembly

Alice Bailey taught that a Spiritual Hierarchy of enlightened beings – sometimes called the Ascended Masters or Great White Brotherhood –guides humanity’s evolution behind the scenes (McKechnie, 2020; Morya Federation, 2025;Lucis Trust, 2025). 

This Hierarchy, she said, consists of m advanced spiritual entities (many having once been human) who work on “inner spiritual planes” to carry out the supposed Plan of God on earth (McKechnie, 2020). 

They are organized in ranks (Masters, initiates, disciples) and headed by a being called Sanat Kumara or the “Lord of the World” (Luciferian Rainbow Peacock Serpent of False Light). The Anti-Christ, identified as the “World Teacher” or “Lord Maitreya” presides over a major division of the Hierarchy, while the Buddha stands alongside in recognition of the Anti-Christ’s divine task. 

Other key figures include the Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul (Bailey’s alleged Luciferian spiritual guide), the Manu (head of the first Luciferian hierarchical group), and Luciferian Masters like Morya and Jupiter, each assigned specific roles in implementing the divine Luciferian Rainbow Peacock Serpent Plan. While this Luciferian Hierarchy remains hidden from ordinary view, Bailey claimed it periodically meets in a grand Luciferian council to assess progress and impart new energies for the coming era (McKechnie, 2024).

According to Bailey’s The Externalisation of the Hierarchy (published 1957), these high Luciferian adepts meet in a “General Assembly of the Hierarchy” once every hundred years, precisely in the 25th year of each century. The most recent was held in 1925, and the next, which she qualified as “Great” General Assembly, is scheduled for 2025. Bailey wrote that during the years leading up to 2025 (“the Stage of the Forerunner”), the Hierarchy would be actively preparing for a planned event called the Externalization of the Hierarchy – essentially, the emergence of these hidden masters into public work.

“During the years intervening between now and then [2025] very great changes will be seen… and at the great General Assembly of the Hierarchy – held as usual every century – in 2025 the date in all probability will be set for the first stage of the externalisation of the Hierarchy”

In other words, the 2025 conclave is expected to decide when and how the Hierarchy will step forward into human visibility, paving the way for the reappearance of the World Teacher, the New Age “Christ”- NOT Yahusha Ha’Mashiach of Nazareth, in the flesh.

When and where will this Assembly occur? New Age researchers point to the Wesak Festival, which occurred May 2025, as the likely time. Wesak (or Vesak) is the annual full moon in Taurus celebrated in esoteric tradition as a spiritually charged time, commemorating the Buddha’s enlightenment. Followers believe that at Wesak, heightened spiritual energy allows greater interaction between the Hierarchy and humanity.

In 2025, the Wesak full moon fell on May 12, 2025, and many expected the Hierarchy’s conclave to coincide with that date In fact, Alice Bailey indicated that these gatherings occur in the 25th year of each century, with the last meeting taking place in May 1925. Following this pattern, she implied the next centennial gathering would be in May 2025 at the Taurus full moon.

The Lucis Trust, Bailey ‘s organization, has already scheduled numerous events throughout 2025, including the Wesak Festival and an Arcane School Conference in New York in May, along with regular Full Moon Meditation Meetings in New York, London, and Geneva (Lucis Trust, 2025).

The location is not a public venue but rather a secret spiritual locale. Theosophical lore speaks of a hidden valley in the Himalayas where masters gather at Wesak, and of Shamballa, a mystical center (sometimes thought to be in the Gobi Desert on etheric planes) where the Lord of the World, The Satanic Rainbow Peacock Serpent Angel of False Light, also known by European New Agers as Sanat Kumara (Hopper, 2025).

It’s conceivable that the 2025 assembly is believed to convene on the inner planes at Shamballa or a similar spiritual stronghold – a kind of occult “high command.”

Intriguingly, Bailey’s text even uses the term “conclave” (Latin conclavis,”locked room”) – a word typically reserved for secret meetings of Catholic cardinals to elect a pope. This choice of terminology raises questions: Why would occultists adopt language echoing a papal election? Is it a deliberate parody of traditional religious authority? The implication is that the Hierarchy sees its spiritual governance as parallel (or superior) to the churches. Isn’t it surprising that both conclaves are expected to take place in the same month in 2025? Such a rare occurrence raises questions about whether this could truly be coincidental.

Five Hundred Years of “Guidance”? Past Hierarchical Conclaves and Their Outcomes

Bailey’s followers assert that each centennial conclave of the Hierarchy has tangibly influenced the course of history – not immediately in 1425 or 1725 themselves, but in the subsequent decades as the spiritual energies released “work out” in human civilization.

A New Age blog, Spiritual Perspectives, explains that the Masters’ gatherings serve to “mobilize energies” (Luciferian Rainbow Serpent & Peacock Angel energies) and set plans which then gradually shape world events over generations. Looking back, they claim we can discern the results of these secret councils:

1425: The conclave of 1425 is credited with seeding ideas that eventually gave rise to the Renaissance and the modern world’s fusion of cultures. About 150 years after 1425 (around the late 1500s), effects began to manifest. Notably, the printing press was invented (circa 1440) and literacy spread, expanding human intelligence” and the faculty of critical thought. As knowledge flowed more freely, people were increasingly able to question old dogmas. Additionally, upheavals in the 15th–16th centuries (wars, explorations, migrations) led to a “dispersion” of peoples (Global Hebrew Slave Trafficking) beyond traditional boundaries. This era saw Europeans crossing oceans, the mixing of civilizations, and the sharing of diverse cultures and ideas worldwide. In esoteric interpretation, the Hierarchy’s influence after 1425 fostered a trend toward global interconnectedness – the first stirrings of a more unified “ world soul” beyond provincial identities. Indeed, the Renaissance (15th–16th century) and Age of Exploration began unifying the world in trade, knowledge, and cultural exchange in unprecedented ways.

1725: The next centennial council allegedly stimulated both cultural flourishing and the impulse toward human liberty and science. The 18th and 19th centuries that followed saw an explosion of art, music, and literature, as well as the Enlightenment ideals of reason and individual rights. Spiritual Perspectives suggests the culture was stimulated, producing the Victorian age, as was the growing urge towards freedom and scientific development” as outcomes of the 1725 conclave. Indeed, by the 1800s (Victorian era), there was a remarkable richness of classical music and arts (think of composers like Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven who were active soon after, in the later 1700s and early 1800s). There was also a rising clamor for political freedom – the American and French Revolutions at the century’s end shook monarchic systems – and rapid advances in scientific understanding (from Newton’s legacy to the industrial inventions). The idea here is that the Masters determined upon an effort” in 1725 to accelerate human mental and cultural development, catalyzing the Enlightenment and the great social transformations that followed.

1825: The Hierarchy’s meeting in 1825 is said to have precipitated the ideological revolutions and industrial transformation of the mid-19th century. Bailey’s writings tie the growth of ideologies in politics and religion” and the emergence of the Industrial Age as effects of the 1825 spiritual impulse. Consider what unfolded in the decades after 1825: new political philosophies and mass movements arose – Marxist socialism and class struggle (Marx was born 1818 and wrote The Communist Manifesto in 1848), modern liberal democracy movements, as well as religious ferment (the 1830s-40s saw new sects and cults like Mormonism, Millerites/Adventists, and modern spiritualism in 1848). At the same time, the Industrial Revolution surged ahead: railroads, steam power, mechanized factories, and the consequent social upheavals of urbanization and labor reform. All these can be seen as humanity transitioning into a new era of complexity. The esoteric view is that the Masters introduced (Luciferian Rainbow Serpent & Peacock Angel) energies that fomented “ideologies in politics and religion, and… the development of the industrial age which had a tremendous impact on labor and daily lives”. The world was being prepared, through sometimes chaotic change, for a more integrated and interdependent civilization (though not without growing pains).

1925: The most recent conclave, held in 1925, looms large in Bailey’s narrative – not least because it occurred within living memory of her contemporaries and was directly discussed in her books. Djwhal Khul (“Ascended Master Demon”) described three major results from the 1925 meeting: (1) A fresh inflow of the “Christ principle” (Anti-Christ)– an outpouring of spiritual love, (Strong Delusions) which energized worldwide movements for peace, unity, and goodwill (Bailey, 1957). Indeed, the years after 1925 saw increasing public yearning to avoid another world war, international peace efforts, and growth of humanitarian initiatives. (2) Stimulation of the principle of “relationship” – resulting in an unprecedented expansion of global communications and travel, shrinking the distances between peoples. The late 1920s and 1930s saw radio become a mass medium, international news and diplomacy intensified, commercial air travel began, etc., all “bringing human beings closer together… paralleling a developing inner unity”. (3) Inflow of the Shamballa (Luciferian Rainbow Serpent & Peacock Angel) force – the energy of will/power – which is the most potent and dangerous energy, previously released only during ancient turning points. This powerful impulse, Bailey said, had a dual effect: it ended an old order through conflict yet opened the door to a new one.

In fact, the final outcome of the 1925 influx was grim: Bailey wrote that it led to the “tremendous changes” of the global crisis that shortly followed. We can recognize this in the Second World War – the “final phase of the World War” as (Luciferian Rainbow Serpent & Peacock Angel) Spiritual Perspectives delicately calls it – which broke out within 15 years of 1925. The release of atomic power at the end of WWII (1945) is also counted as a direct result (for good or ill) of that (Luciferian Rainbow Serpent & Peacock Angel) Shamballa will-force. And yet, from the ashes of war came the establishment of the United Nations in 1945 and the end of old-style colonial empires – steps toward a new global order that the Hierarchy viewed favorably (McKechnie, 2024).

Perhaps most notably from an occult standpoint, 1925’s (Luciferian Rainbow Serpent & Peacock Angel) spiritual impulse saw the “appearance of the new group of world servers”. This New Group of World Servers is described as a “subjective yet worldwide group of souls” who, aligned with Hierarchical intent, work for world betterment and unity beyond outer differences. In other words, since the late 1920s, a growing network of (Luciferian Rainbow Serpent & Peacock Angel) spiritually attuned workers in all fields – politics, education, religion, science, goodwill initiatives – has been active, consciously or unconsciously carrying out the Hierarchy’s Plan. Bailey saw this as a major leap in humanity’s spiritual (Luciferian Rainbow Serpent & Peacock Angel) evolution: humanity beginning to assume collective responsibility for its future, guided from within by those who respond to the Plan.
